Garmin has released a new software update designed to enhance the user experience and address several key issues on its popular Fenix 8, E, and Enduro 3 models. System Software 12.35 focuses on resolving bugs that have been reported by users, particularly concerning ConnectIQ (CIQ) app stability.
Key Improvements in System Software 12.35
- Restored Phone Call Alerts: Users can now rely on audible notifications for incoming calls, ensuring they never miss an important phone call again.
- Fixed Alarm Migration Issue: Alarms migrated from Fenix 7 devices will no longer be inadvertently silenced, providing uninterrupted alerts.
- Enhanced CIQ App Compatibility: CIQ apps can now be closed seamlessly using the Palm Cover feature, offering a more intuitive and efficient user experience.
- Improved CIQ Watch Face Display: After a device reset, CIQ watch faces will display correctly, avoiding any visual disruptions.
- Refined Event Countdown Interaction: The event Countdown icon is now more responsive to touch input, allowing for easier navigation and management.
- Optimized Fishing Timer: The Fishing timer’s status toggle has been refined for smoother operation.
- Addressed Tides App Time-out: The Tides app will no longer time out prematurely, ensuring uninterrupted access to essential tidal information.
- Enhanced Map Manager Stability: The potential for crashes when accessing Map Manager from Garmin Connect Mobile has been mitigated.
- Improved CIQ App Stability: The risk of ConnectIQ application crashes has been significantly reduced.
- Refined Workout Execution Score: The Workout Execution Score metric is now limited to Running and Cycling workouts, providing more accurate and relevant performance insights.
- Optimized Sensor Search: Sensors placed in Pairing Mode will now appear at the top of the search list, streamlining the pairing process.
How to Update
To install the latest update, navigate to Settings > System > Software Update on your device and check for updates. System Software 12.35 is available to all Fenix 8, Fenix E, and Enduro 3 users, regardless of their participation in the beta program.
