Garmin has begun the rollout of a new beta software update, version 12.11, specifically designed for the Edge 1050 cycling computer. Currently available to 20% of enrolled beta program participants, this update focuses on enhancing the user experience and addressing several critical issues.
Enhanced Visibility and Readability
This update introduces a “light color mode” for glances within the glance list. This new feature improves visibility and readability, making it easier for cyclists to quickly access and interpret essential information at a glance, even in bright conditions.
Improved Data Field Functionality
The update also addresses an issue where maximum speed and cadence values were occasionally cut off within certain graphical data field configurations. This fix ensures that all relevant data is displayed accurately and completely, providing cyclists with a comprehensive overview of their performance metrics.
Enhanced User Interface and Performance
Several visual and functional improvements have been included in this update. Notably, the issue of invisible text within dark mode spectator messages has been resolved, ensuring clear and legible communication between riders and spectators.
Furthermore, the update addresses a bug that affected the selection of graphical data fields within the Garmin Connect Mobile app during data screen setup. This improvement streamlines the customization process and allows cyclists to easily configure their preferred data displays.
Addressing Map-Related Issues
This update also includes fixes for various bugs related to map icons, improving the overall accuracy and reliability of navigation features.
