Garmin releases new beta update 21.06 for Fenix 7, Epix 2, Enduro 2, Quatix 7, and MARQ Gen 2.

Garmin is currently deploying a brand-new beta software iteration, version 21.06, for a selection of its high-end smartwatch models. This update targets users of the acclaimed Fenix 7 series, the vibrant Epix and Epix Pro lineups, the endurance-focused Enduro 2, the marine-centric Quatix 7, and the premium MARQ Gen 2 collection.

Key Improvements and Bug Fixes in the Latest Beta

This software refresh introduces several notable fixes aimed at enhancing the user experience and ensuring data accuracy. The changelog highlights resolutions for a number of previously identified issues:

  • Workout Schedule Synchronization Enhanced: A problem causing discrepancies between the device’s workout schedule and what was displayed in Garmin Connect has been resolved. Users can now expect seamless synchronization between their smartwatch and the companion app.
  • Accurate Weekly Totals: An inconsistency that led to incorrect weekly totals after users adjusted the “First Day of Week” setting has been rectified. Weekly activity summaries should now accurately reflect the chosen start day.
  • Map Navigation Clarity Restored: The missing pan and zoom icons on the map interface have been reinstated, providing users with the expected navigational controls for exploring maps directly on their wrist.
  • Sleep Mode Stability Improved: A potential issue where sleep mode could unexpectedly reactivate after sleep tracking concluded has been addressed, ensuring a more consistent and predictable sleep monitoring experience.
  • Enhanced Activity Saving Reliability: The possibility of the device shutting down during the process of saving or discarding an activity has been fixed, safeguarding users’ workout data.
  • Workout Name Localization Corrected: A potential issue preventing workout names from being properly translated in certain languages has been resolved, offering a more consistent and localized user interface.

Effortless Update Process via Wi-Fi

Garmin has made the installation of this beta update straightforward and convenient. Users can directly download and install the new software via a Wi-Fi connection. To initiate the update process on their compatible smartwatch, users simply need to navigate to the main Menu, then select System, followed by Software Update, and finally tap on Check For Updates.
